JEFF RENFROE
Jeff Renfroe was born in Seattle, WA. Renfroe cut his teeth in filmmaking at Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto, Canada and graduated in 1993 with a BBA degree in Film Studies. What stands out from his tenure at Ryerson are two short-films: “Noah” and “The Advantages of the Vaculux 2000.” “Vaculux” premiered at the Local Heroes Film Festival in 1997 and was picked up by the Knowledge Network in Western Canada. “Noah” won Best Short Film at TVO- Telefest.
Since Ryerson, Renfroe has been directing music videos and commercials for Black Walk Productions, Avion Films and Revolver Films, in Toronto, Canada as well as for H-Gun Labs in San Francisco and Squeak Pictures in Los Angeles. He has won awards for his music-video work, both as a director and an editor.
MARTEINN THORSSON
Marteinn Steinar Thorsson was born in Reykjavik, Iceland. Long before that he had decided he wanted to be a filmmaker, so, after birth he delivered newspapers, dug trenches for the telephone company, was a babysitter and worked on a chicken farm before studying social sciences, literature and drama. He cheated his way into a high-profile job in Southern-Sweden at one point. Somehow he graduated from Ryerson Polytechnic University in 1993 with a BAA degree in Film Studies and a 65-minute film noir, “Diary of an Assassin”.
Since Ryerson, Thorsson has directed television (drama, comedy, documentaries & variety shows), commercials, and music videos in Iceland. He has created promotional spots in Toronto, Canada for Astral Media (for which he has won 3 PROMAX awards), Showcase and YTV. He’;s left-handed.
